I walk up the stairs. I enter the room. The young man is already there. But I have no money to tip him. What a shame! I open the suitcase. Some clothes fall out. I look for the chocolate box. I find it. I am embarrassed to give it to the porter. But he even more. Complete confusion! He smiles and leaves the room without taking the box. I look at myself in the mirror. What a fool I am! A good beginning! I should really concentrate. That is what my grandmother always tells me. Now I need some rest. Tomorrow I`ll try to arrange everything. I need courage, too.

I sit on my bed. I look around the room. It`s nice and cosy. The wallpaper is silver-yellow. The ceiling is high. The lamp is casting a soft light. The door is dark brown and heavy. The windows, narrow and high. They are closed. The curtains are also silver-yellow. And the bed is old fashioned. It has a dark brown bedspread. I take it off. The sheets and pillow cases are whiter than snow. There`s a white blanket there. There is an antique table to the left of the bed. There is a radio and a telephone on it. There is also a vase full of white carnations.

I get up and approach the table. It is round. I push back the chair. I sit down. There are newspapers and magazines on the table. There is also a fruit bowl with bananas, pears and apples in it. There is a carpet on the floor – colourful flowers on a green background. The garden of paradise! There is a chest of drawers in the corner with a television on it. I do not want to switch it on. I open the balcony door. Lamps are shining in the garden. There are tall trees there. Fresh air is blowing in. The corner winder faces the street. Thousands of lights! Tomorrow I will see the street.

The bathroom door is open. There is a bath and a shower. There are pink bars of soap on the washbasin. The towels are also pink. Well, everything starts to look pink! I go back to the table. I take a banana. I eat it with pleasure. Shall I have another one? No, that`s enough. I am going to take a shower. It is time to go to bad. Good night.
